The Blog to Transform Advanced Care

Advancing Care through Innovation, Observation and Collaboration.

The Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC), which operates within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is seeking input and guidance on which issues should be considered during its review of proposed Physician-Focused Payment Models.

The comment period closes on July 31, 2020 and submissions will be made publicly available. This input will support environmental scans which HHS provides to give PTAC members an understanding of the clinical and economic circumstances within which a proposed model would be implemented.

PTAC is asking for input on four questions that tackle several issues related to the development and implementation of Physician-Focused Payment Models, including:

  • Current challenges in healthcare delivery and payment and what is needed to address care delivery issues and alternative payment models
  • Attributes that may serve to support or hinder the adoption and engagement in models
  • How a proposed model may build on lessons learned from earlier models
  • How models reviewed by PTAC could be incorporated in broader models, like Accountable Care Organizations or Direct Contracting

Click on the button below to read the full questions and to learn more about this request. Input can be submitted via email to PTAC@hhs.gov.
