New Washington Post Article From C-TAC Senior Clinical Advisor Ravi Parikh

Ravi Parikh, MD, C-TAC’s senior clinical advisor, has published a new article in the Washington Post examining the rise of personalized oncology. Dr. Parikh also serves as a fellow in hematology and oncology at the University of Pennsylvania.

“The pace of change in cancer therapy has been staggering over the past five years. The increased availability of new treatment options — often with better chances of remission and fewer side effects — is good for patients,” wrote Dr. Parikh. “But for many of them and their physicians, it can be difficult to keep up with all the changes.”

Dr. Parikh highlighted the benefits of novel therapies as well as the challenges, including access to treatment. He also noted that it can be difficult to convince patients that traditional chemotherapy may be more effective in their circumstance.
